Connectivity Validation

Connectivity validation checks the current site to ensure that phase items are properly connected. If any connectivity issues are identified then a report is displayed listing the issues and the changes made to correct the phase.

Connectivity validation is performed automatically when a file is opened and when data is imported to the current site.

Common connectivity warnings:

Item Warning Reason
Inflow Disconnected The Inflow is connected to a junction or Stormwater Controls (SWC) that no longer exists, and no junctions or SWCs contain inlets which have the inflow as an incoming item.
Inflow Reconnected The inflow is connected to a junction or SWC that either no longer exists or does not contain an inlet which has the inflow as an incoming item, and there is another junction or SWC that does.
Inflow Reconnected to a new inlet The inflow is connected to a junction or SWC that does not contain an inlet which has the inflow as an incoming item, and there is not another junction or SWC that does.
Inlet Disconnected incoming items Another inlet already has the inflow or connection as an incoming item.
Inlet Disconnected bypass connection An outlet already has this connection as the outgoing connection or another inlet already has this connection as the bypass connection.
Outlet Disconnected outgoing connection Another outlet already has this connection as the outgoing connection.
Inlet or Outlet Reconnected parent node The inlet or outlet is connected to a junction or SWC that is not the junction or SWC that it is a part of.
Connection Reconnected upstream The connection is connected upstream to a junction or SWC that either no longer exists or does not contain an inlet or outlet which has the connection as the bypass or outgoing connection and there is another junction or SWC that does.
Connection Reconnected downstream The connection is connected downstream to a junction or SWC that either no longer exists or does not contain an inlet which has the connection as an incoming item, and there is another junction or SWC that does.
Connection Reconnected upstream to a new outlet The connection is connected upstream to a junction or SWC that does not contain an inlet or outlet which has the connection as the bypass or outgoing connection, and there is not another junction or SWC that does.
Connection Reconnected downstream to a new inlet The connection is connected downstream to a junction or SWC that does not contain an inlet which has the connection as incoming item, and there is not another junction or SWC that does.
Connection Reconnected upstream to a new node The connection is connected upstream to either nothing or to a junction or SWC that no longer exist, and no other junction or SWC contains an inlet or outlet which has the connection as the bypass or outgoing connection.
Connection Reconnected downstream to a new node The connection is connected downstream to either nothing or to a junction or SWC that no longer exist, and no other junction or SWC contains an inlet which has the connection as an incoming item.
Flow Path Trimmed The flow path has one of the following issues:
  1. It does not start and end at a junction or SWC.
  2. It does not alternate between junctions or SWCs and connections.
  3. Neighbouring items in the path are not directly connected to one another.
Or any other change made as part of connectivity validation resulted in the flow path having one of those issues.
Flow Path Removed The flow path is empty, or changes made as part of connectivity validation resulted in the flow path being empty.
