About Geolocation and Shared Coordinates

If you define a geolocation for a Revit model that uses shared coordinates with linked models, the shared coordinates relationship is removed.

Before you can use Forma tools, you need to connect the model to a scenario and establish a geolocation. If you have detailed survey data from a civil engineer, you can use advanced geolocation. If not, you can use a draft geolocation and update it later. In either case, establishing this geolocation removes the shared coordinates relationship with linked models.

The removal of the shared coordinates relationship is the same as what happens when you reset shared coordinates.

After adding the model to a Forma scenario, do either of the following:

• Open each linked model individually and add it to the scenario.
• Re-establish shared coordinates with the linked models.
  • For non-workshared models: Publish coordinates.
  • For cloud workshared models: Acquire shared coordinates.
