Configure Vault Connector

Before the Vault Connector can be used, it must be enabled and configured in the Autodesk Data Management Server (ADMS) Console. This initial setup establishes the connection between Vault and the Autodesk cloud service you want to sync with.

The same Vault Connector service supports two integrations. Enable the one you need:

• Fusion Manage: Synchronize Vault Items and their Bills of Materials (BOMs) to a Fusion Manage workspace.
• Forma Data Management: Synchronize Vault files and folders to Forma Data Management.

You can enable both integrations. Each is a separate option in the Vault Connector Settings dialog box.

Prerequisites:

• You must have administrator access to the ADMS Console.
• The Vault Server needs access to the internet.
• A dedicated Vault service account with a Vault Professional license, used for the connector configuration.
• For Fusion Manage: the service account also needs a Fusion Manage license with read/write permissions for the target Fusion Manage workspace.
• For Forma Data Management: the service account needs access to the target Forma hub and Forma Data Management project.

To open the Vault Connector Settings:

1. Open the ADMS Console on the server where Vault is installed.

2. From the Tools menu, select Administration.

3. In the Global Settings, select the Network Settings tab.

4. Click Configure in the Vault Connector Settings section.

   The Vault Connector Settings dialog box displays with an option for each integration.

Option 1 - Enable for Fusion Manage:

1. Select the Enable Vault Connector For Fusion Manage check box.

2. Under Connection Setting, click Sign In and authenticate with your service account.

   To change the account later, click Switch to update the credentials used for the Vault Connector service.

3. Click Apply, then click OK to save the configuration.

   After enabling, configure Item property mappings in the Vault client to complete the Fusion Manage setup.

Option 2 - Enable for Forma Data Management:

1. Select the Enable Vault Connector For Forma Data Management check box.

2. Under Connection Setting, click Sign In and authenticate with your service account.

   To change the account later, click Switch to update the credentials used for the Vault Connector service.

3. Click Apply, then click OK to save the configuration.

   After enabling, configure Forma folder and property mappings in the Vault client. See Vault Connector to Forma Data Management.

The Vault Connector Agent starts after you enable an integration. Check the ADMS Console logs for the Agent startup message. If the connector does not start after a system reboot, set the Autodesk Vault Connector Service startup type to Automatic in Windows Services.
