Enable job processing from any server or Workgroup
By default, a Job Processor works with one Vault server. You set that server in Server Credentials.
You can change this behavior. Turn on an option so the Job Processor can pull jobs from any server or workgroup you can reach. This helps connected workgroup and multi-workgroup setups.
Before you begin
- Install the Job Processor on a dedicated workstation when you can.
- Save server credentials: File > Server Credentials.
- Pause the Job Processor: File > Pause.
Note: Open Administration > Settings only after you save credentials and pause the Job Processor.
Enable processing from any server or Workgroup
- On the workstation where you want jobs to be processed, open the Job Processor from the Windows Start menu (Autodesk Data Management > Autodesk Job Processor [edition] for Vault).
- If the Job Processor is running, click File > Pause.
- Click File > Server Credentials. Confirm Authentication, Server, and sign-in details, then click OK.
- Click Administration > Settings.
- On the Processing tab, select Enable job processing from any server or Workgroup.
- Click OK.
- Click File > Resume.
The Job Processor can now pull jobs from all workgroups. It uses the account you saved in Server Credentials.
When to use this option
Turn the option on when:
- One Job Processor must serve more than one workgroup.
- You want one PC to handle job queues on many workgroups. You do not want a separate sign-in on each workgroup.
When to leave this option cleared
Leave the option off when:
- Each processor must work on only one workgroup.
- You are fixing job or replication issues. You need jobs to stay on one server.
When the option is off, the Job Processor uses only the server in Server Credentials.
