Character Generator gives you a quick way to create custom characters, rigged and ready to animate in 3D animation software, or import into a game engine.
Character Generator lets you create different looks and body types for characters
With Character Generator, you can create up to 200 character designs and 200 generated characters that you can customize, by changing the body, face, clothing, and hair types with a selection of colors, textures, and character presets.
Once your character design is complete, output the character in Autodesk FBX or Autodesk Maya file formats.
Creating and exporting customized characters in Character Generator is easy:
- Access the Character Generator website
- Create and customize your character
- Generate your character
- Download your character
- Import your character into other software (that supports the .fbx or .mb file format).
To use Character Generator, you need to be signed in to your https://Autodesk account.
The first time you sign in to Character Generator, you must agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Statement.
- Go to
https://charactergenerator.autodesk.com.
The
Character Generator landing page appears.
Note: If you are a student, go to http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/character-generator, and if you're an Autodesk customer on Subscription, go to https://accounts.autodesk.com.
- Sign in to your Autodesk account. If you don't have an Autodesk account, create one now and then sign in.
The Autodesk Character Generator Agreement displays.
- To continue, agree to the Terms of Service and to the Privacy Statement, then click Accept.
Character Generator opens and you are ready to Create and customize Characters.
