Tracking and Responding to RFQs

All RFQ (Request for Quotation) activity and logging takes place in the Configurator 360 interface.

Workflow for RFQ

  1. The Administrator sets up the RFQ functionality for your designs.
  2. The client receives notice from you that your design is available for viewing.
  3. The client views your design in Configurator 360 and configures it to accommodate their specifications.
  4. The client sends you an RFQ based on the model, either with or without modifications. The RFQ displays in the list on your RFQ page in Configurator 360.
  5. You send a quote to your client.

Customize RFQ setup

Set options to control the functionality of the RFQs that your clients use after uploading a design.

  1. On the Options tab, click the RFQ Setup sub tab.
  2. Use the options on the tab to:
    • Turn on and off the RFQ functionality that you set up.
    • Control an email notification to alert you when clients send an RFQ.
    • Customize the client-visible RFQ button.
    • Add text visible to clients on the RFQ.

View RFQs submitted to you

  1. If specified in your RFQ setup, you receive an email when your client submits the RFQ.
  2. In Configurator 360, select the RFQ tab to view a list of RFQs submitted to you by clients.
Note:
    • RFQs as well as associated IAM and supporting model files are only kept for 30 days.
    • The RFQ-email includes the supplied RFQ data, if available, in both human-readable and machine-readable formats.
    • The RFQ-email includes an IKMS file of the model which there is no built-in way to view. It's only usable via the embedding API.
