This feature allows the diameter of round and oval ends to be increased or decreased depending on the connector being used on the end. This adjustment is applied in addition to any other existing adjustments.
The adjustment is set in the column labeled Diameter Adjust.
A value can be entered here to increase or decrease the size of the diameter. Alternatively, the Diameter Adjust can be set to be Material Specific.
If Material Specific is selected, then a Diameter Adjust Set must be selected. The Diameter Adjust Set is created in the Materials database.
The Effective Diameter Set
This will apply the predefined adjustments to the items that were created in the Effective Diameter table when the "Use Connector Dependant Effective Diameters" check box is applied. These tables are created by selecting either of the Connector Dependant tables from the drop-down menu and creating a set within them.
See Effective Diameters for more information.
The Oval Connector Dependant Sets have a number of extra fields, some of which are not used in the actual development of the item, but are there for using in reports. These are explained below.
Note that fittings that do not support unequal ends will report a "Geometry is Invalid" error when you try to develop them in takeoff, if the adjustments create unequal ends.
