This functionality is provided as a preview
of intended future API capabilities. You are encouraged to use it and report any problems or suggestions using the
Fusion API and Scripts forum.
Because this is a preview of future functionality, there is the possibility that it will change, which will possibly
break any existing programs that use this functionality. Because of that, you should never deliver any programs that use
any preview capabilities. For a distributed program, you should wait until it has moved from preview to released state.
Defines the input properties required for creating an edge flange feature.
| Name | Description |
| classType |
Static function that all classes support that returns the type of the class as a string. The returned string matches the string returned by the objectType property. For example if you have a reference to an object and you want to check if it's a SketchLine you can use myObject.objectType == fusion.SketchLine.classType(). |
| setDistanceExtent |
Sets the extent type to be a specified distance. Calling this method changes the extent type of the input to a distance extent. |
| setToObjectExtent |
Sets the extent type to be defined by extending to a specified entity. Calling this method changes the extent type of the input to a "to object" extent. To use a "to" extent is only valid when defining a flange on a single edge. The flange will extend to the specified entity with an offset defined by the offset argument. The collection accessed through the edgeDefinitions property must contain only one edge when using this extent type. |
| Name | Description |
| angle | Gets and sets the angle of the flange. The default value is 90 degrees. A valid ValueInput is one that defines an angle. If a real value is provided it will be interpreted as radians. If a string is provided it should be in the format used in the user interface. If no units are specified, it uses degrees for the units but you can also specify the units such as "0.785 rad". You can also define equations like "angleParam / 2" where angleParam is the name of an existing parameter that defines an angle. |
| bendPositionType | Gets and sets the bend position for the edge flange. The default is BendPositionTypes.StartEdgeBendPositionType. |
| bendRadiusOverride | Bend-radius override for this edge flange input. Never null; check isOverridden to see if active. |
| bendReliefOverride | Bend-relief override for this edge flange input. Never null; check isOverridden to see if active. |
| distance | Gets the height of the flange when the extent is a distance extent. If a "To Object" extent is defined, this property will return null. To set this value use the appropriate set method to fully define the extent type. |
| edgeDefinitions | Gets the collection that defines the edges where the flanges will be created. Use the returned collection to define the edges. If a "To Object" extent type is used, only a single edge can be used, so the collection should contain only one edge. For a distance extent type, multiple edges can be used. |
| extentType | Returns the type of extent defined. To change the extent type use one of the set methods. |
| heightDatumType | Gets and sets where the height is measured from. The default is FlangeHeightDatumTypes.OuterFacesFlangeHeightDatumType. |
| isFlipped | Gets and sets if the flange direction is flipped. The default is false. |
| isMiteredCorners | Gets and sets if the corner is mitered when there are adjacent flanges. The default is true, which creates a mitered corner. |
| isValid | Indicates if this object is still valid, i.e. hasn't been deleted or some other action done to invalidate the reference. |
| objectType | This property is supported by all objects in the API and returns a string that contains the full name (namespace::objecttype) describing the type of the object. It's often useful to use this in combination with the classType method to see if an object is a certain type. For example: if obj.objectType == adsk.core.Point3D.classType(): |
| threeBendCornerOverride | Three-bend corner relief override for this edge flange input. Never null; check isOverridden to see if active. |
| toEntity | Gets the "To" entity when the extent is a "To Object" extent type. If a "Distance" extent is defined, this property will return null. To set this value use the appropriate set method to fully define the extent type. The "To" can be a planar BRepFace, ConstructionPlane that is parallel to the edge being extended or a BRepVertex or ConstructionPoint. |
| toEntityOffset | Gets the offset distance of the height of the flange from the "To" entity. If a "Distance" extent is defined, this property will return null. To set this value use the appropriate set method to fully define the extent type. |
| twoBendCornerOverride | Two-bend corner relief override for this edge flange input. Never null; check isOverridden to see if active. |
| Name | Description |
| Flange Feature Sample | Demonstrates accessing and creating sheet metal flange features including base flange, contour flange, and edge flange. To run the sample script, have a design open in Fusion's DESIGN workspace that contains a sheet metal body in the root component. The body must have at least one linear edge on its outside that is valid for a flange. A design created with the Sheet Metal > Create > Flange commands, or any design containing a base flange, satisfies this. The script first iterates over any flange features that already exist in the design and reads the settings from each definition, so the reading portion reports nothing if the design has no flanges yet. It then finds the first linear edge on the first body in the root component and uses it to create a new edge flange feature. Reading the edges back from the created feature requires rolling the timeline marker to immediately before the feature, which the script does using TimelineObject.rollTo. |
