3 + 2 machining allows you to efficiently machine features that you could not do in one setup with conventional 3D machining. Adaptive Clearing and Packet Clearing are two efficient roughing methods that can be used for machining features on a part.

The stock we start from (left) is already finished to a shape that only requires the machining of the two pockets (right) using 3+2 tool paths.
If necessary, on the Application toolbar, click Show Data Panel .
In the Data Panel, under Samples, double-click CAM Samples > Tutorials > Tutorial3.
Close the Data Panel.
On the Design workspace toolbar, from the Workspace menu, select Manufacture.
