The Slice Analysis
tool visualizes the laser scanned cross-sectional area for each printed layer. Use it to identify large layer-to-layer area variation that can indicate thermal instability concerns, including risk of warping, residual stress, and distortion.
Ensure that you have an additive setup with an MPBF, MJF, or SLS additive machine selected and components loaded in the setup.
On the Manufacture workspace toolbar, click Additive > Actions > Slice Analysis
.
The Slice Analysis dialog opens and displays a graph of cross-sectional area per layer.
Review the graph to check for large changes in cross-sectional area between layers.
(Optional) Adjust the height range for the graph:
(Optional) From the Y Axis list, choose how to label the vertical axis on the graph:
(Optional) Click Export as CSV to save the slice statistics data to a .csv file.
Click Close.
