The Turning Groove Roughing strategy removes the bulk of stock from grooves by machining the inside diameter, the outside diameter, or the face of grooves.
Example of a Turning Groove Roughing toolpath machining an outside groove.
The Tool Entry option enables you to choose whether the tool enters the groove from the side or from the center:
The tool enters the groove from the side (1) and from the center (2).
If the tool enters the groove from the side, you can specify the Order of cuts. Choose to remove depth first or width first:
The tool removes stock on the depth first (1) and on the width first (2).
