Layer stack views

Layer stack views are a set of views and tables that show the physical structure of a PCB in an electronics drawing. They include the layer stack view, the layer stack table, and the via pairs table. Use them together to verify that the PCB design meets the required standards and performance criteria before production begins, and to help everyone understand the structure and specifications of the board.

Layer stack view

A layer stack view is an abstract diagram based on the PCB Layer Stack. It shows all the layers of the PCB and the via pairs that connect them.

Layer stack table

A layer stack table shows detailed information about each layer of the PCB, such as material, thickness, type, and any special attributes. Place a layer stack table next to a layer stack view to show the detail for each layer in the view.

Via pairs table

A via pairs table documents the connections made by the via pairs in the PCB. You add it with the same command as the layer stack table.

You can change the title of a layer stack table or a via pairs table, show or hide columns, and change the order of the columns.

Layer stack views in mechanical assemblies

You can place layer stack views for multiple PCBs in a mechanical assembly. Place them side by side on a single sheet, or across multiple sheets to show more detail about each board in the assembly.

Layer stack views in the Browser

Each layer stack view that you place displays as a node in the Browser, under the Layer Stack node.
