Create a new attribute set for a component variant

Create a new attribute set to define an alternative property configuration for a component variant, such as a different technology or sourcing option.

Prerequisites

  1. Open the Attributes dialog.
  2. Make sure you are viewing attributes for the desired component variant.

Steps

  1. In the Attributes dialog, click New Attribute Set in the lower-left corner.

  2. Enter a name for the new attribute set. This name combines with the component name and variant name to form the full part name, unless DEFAULT is selected.

  3. (Optional) Choose how to copy attributes from an existing attribute set. You can copy attribute names, attribute values, or both, depending on your needs.

    • Attribute values: Copies attribute values only for attributes that already exist in the current variant.
    • Attribute names only: Copies attributes from another set without copying their values.
    • Attribute names and values: Copies all attributes and their values, including attributes that don't exist in the current variant.
  4. Click OK to create the attribute set.

Next steps

  1. Edit attribute values: Double-click a cell in the Attributes dialog to modify an attribute value.
