Tutorial: Manage electronic component libraries

When creating an electronics design, you need to select the specific component you need from the vendor that makes the component. There are thousands of components to choose from. Most components are not installed with Fusion. However, often the component you need is available for you to download.

In this tutorial, you find and download component libraries needed for your electronics design.

When done with this tutorial, you will have downloaded libraries for an electronics design. This tutorial does not include steps for creating the design.

When a library is added, the checkmark badge displays to show it is ready to use.

Prerequisites

  1. Open the Data Panel if necessary data panel icon and click New Project and enter the project Ecad Library Tutorial to create a project folder. If you do not want to create a new project, create a folder for this tutorial.

  2. In Fusion, click File Icon file and select New Electronics Design, to open a blank electronics document.

  3. Click Save Save icon and save the electronics design with the name Manage Libraries Electronics Design in the Ecad Library Tutorial project or folder you just created.

  4. Click Create > New Schematic Icon reference schematic.

  5. Click Save Save icon and save the schematic with the name Manage Libraries schematic in the Ecad Library Tutorial project or folder you just created.
