Prerequisites
Steps
Create group of nets and components.
In the Design Manager panel, on the Browser tab, Click Sheet 2/4.
Select SLOT-2 components and nets and name the group.
- On the canvas draw a Window Selection rectangle around all components for SLOT-2.
- Right-click one of the selected components or nets.
- Select New Group from context menu.
- Enter CONNECT-2 in Name box of New group dialog.
- Click OK.
On the canvas, the group is surrounded by a dotted line with the group name on top label.
Note: If you right-click a component but do not see context menu with the New Group option, you may need to right-click an object handle.

Click the group outline or the object handle for the group label and see that you can move the whole group on the canvas.
To ungroup the components.
- Right-click the group outline or the object handle for the group label.
- Select Ungroup from context menu.
Create a group of components only.
- In the Selection Filter panel, under Types group, click Component.
- In one of the SLOT schematics, draw a Windows Selection rectangle around the four components at the bottom: MCP1700T, two capacitors (C2xx), and GND.
- Create a group, with a name MCP-GROUP.
- In the Selection Filter panel, click Reset to remove the Component-only restriction.
