Ways to access extensions

Fusion provides flexible options for accessing extensions, so you can choose what works best for you. Extensions add advanced capabilities on top of your core Fusion experience. You can access extensions in different ways:

• As part of a Fusion offering, where certain extensions are included automatically with your subscription.
• By purchasing access to extensions separately, if they’re not included in your subscription.

Access through Fusion offerings

Some Fusion offerings automatically include access to certain extensions:

• Fusion for Manufacturing includes the Fusion Manufacturing Extension.
• Fusion for Design includes the Fusion Design Extension and Fusion Simulation Extension. It also includes Fusion Manage for product lifecycle management.

Purchasing extensions

If an extension isn’t included in your subscription, you can purchase access directly in Fusion. Depending on the extension and the Fusion product you have, you can purchase:

• Daily access using Flex tokens, which is best for occasional or short-term use.
• Monthly or yearly access using a payment card, which is best for regular use.

You can also contact an Autodesk Reseller or an Autodesk Service Partner for additional purchasing options.

Daily access using Flex tokens

Choose daily access when you need to use an extension occasionally or for short-term use. There’s no contract. When access expires, you decide when to purchase again. After purchase, the extension is added to your Autodesk account as a service included with Fusion.

Flex Auto Access

Flex Auto Access automates daily Flex token-based access for extensions, removing the need to manually purchase access each day. Flex tokens are deducted automatically on days when you open Fusion, even if you don’t actively use extension features on that day.

If Fusion is offline when Flex Auto Access needs to be confirmed, extension features become temporarily unavailable, and no Flex tokens are charged. To continue using extension features, switch to online mode.

Flex Auto Access isn’t available for all customers. If it’s available to you, you’ll see a message in the Purchase Manager when selecting the daily option. Your administrator must enable Flex Auto Access in Autodesk account and assign access to users.

Monthly or yearly access using a payment card

Choose monthly or yearly access when you need to use an extension regularly. By default, these purchases auto-renew to ensure uninterrupted access. After purchase, the extension is added to your Autodesk account as a product, where you can assign and manage named users.

Cost of extensions

The cost of accessing an extension varies by extension and purchase option. The Purchase Manager shows the price for monthly and yearly options in your local currency. For daily access, it displays the number of Flex tokens required. Check the Flex Rate Sheet to see the equivalent cost in your local currency.
