The tools in the Design > Mesh > Create panel let you insert mesh bodies and tessellate solid bodies in Fusion.
You can use the following tools to create mesh bodies:
The Insert Mesh tool inserts an existing STL
, OBJ
, or 3MF
file as a mesh body into the active component in a design.
Select a file to insert. The contents of the file displays as a mesh body in the canvas and the Browser, in the Bodies folder of the active component.
The Tessellate tool converts an existing solid or surface body into a mesh body and automatically creates face groups.
Select the solid or surface body to tessellate, then adjust the mesh refinement settings to convert the body to a mesh body.
The Create Mesh Section Sketch tool creates a sketch that contains a section line where a plane intersects a mesh body. You can use this tool to reverse-engineer mesh bodies.
Select a mesh body, select a plane, then adjust the location of the section line. Edit the sketch and use the Fit Curves To Mesh Section tool to create sketch geometry to match the section line.
Repeat the process to create multiple section sketches that you can use to recreate the design as a solid or surface body.
