Setup summary
The Setup Summary command enables you to verify the study setup.
By default, the study is setup and ready to go, with default material, injection location, and process settings defined. You only need to specify the target body.
If you want to edit any of the settings, you can open them directly from the Setup Summary dialog by clicking the step icon:
- Target Body
- Material
- Injection Locations
- Injection Time, Melt Temperature, or Mold Surface Temperature
- Aesthetic Faces .
Additionally, if the following icons are showing, you need to verify some of the settings first. They indicate that something is wrong with the setup and you should or could modify those settings for which this icon appears:
- Error. When you see an exclamation mark on red background, you can't solve the study because you need to complete this step first. If you click the icon, you will find more instructions on what you need to correct. For example, you can see the error state when the target body isn't specified.
- Warning. When you see an exclamation mark on a yellow background, you can solve the study, but there are potential issues with it. This state may be pointing out that the setup may not be correct. If the warning icon is showing, the best practice is to review your inputs before solving. You see the warning state, for example when:
- An injection location is specified on an aesthetic face
- Melt Temperature or Mold Surface Temperature are out of range for the selected material.
When the study setup is ready, you can click the Solve button to open the Solve dialog to start the plastic injection molding analyses.
