Create a Facility

Create a facility to group together and monitor a set of assets or processes.

When you create a facility, a workspace will automatically be created for that facility. See Workspaces and Components for more information on these.

If a location is added, the facility will also be added to the map.

To create a new facility

  1. Go to Admin Facilities and click Create Facility.
  2. Fill in the details, bearing in mind the following:
    • All facility types except Pump Stations will be available in the Facilities tab.
    • You need to select at least one sensor group or one data source.
    • In order to see the total volume and volume per pump station in the Pump Station Overview, you need to create an analytic for each pump station to calculate its volume. The analytic may be a summation of volume sensors, a conversion from flow sensors, or any other method of deriving volume based on the sensor information available. Make sure to also schedule this analytic to recalculate at least every hour. See Create an Analytic.

      You can then select the output from this analytic (a virtual sensor with the pump station's calculated volume) in the Calculated Volume field.

    • If you select an image, this will show as a thumbnail on the map.
  3. Click Save.
Note: To find a facility in the map, you need to type in the exact name.
