Get familiar with the Autodesk Assistant panel. This guide walks you through the main areas of the panel and what each element does.
When you open the Assistant panel, you see the main chat area. This is where you interact with the Assistant.
Greeting message — The Assistant introduces itself and is ready to help.
Chat field — Type your questions or requests in the Ask Autodesk Assistant field.
Send button — Click the arrow icon to send your message, or press Enter.
Click Chat to open a menu with additional options:
Prompt Library — Browse pre-written prompts to help you get started. These prompts are designed for common tasks and questions.
Chat History — View and return to your previous conversations.
Your prompts and chat history are saved to your Autodesk account. To learn more, see Trust, privacy, and your data for Autodesk Assistant in InfoWater Pro.
Click the + icon to start a fresh conversation. Use this when you want to change topics or begin a new task.
The first time you open a new chat, you may see a message letting you know that your conversations are saved automatically.
Click Go to Chat History to view your saved conversations.
Click Got it to dismiss the message and continue chatting.
You can choose not to show this message again by selecting the checkbox.
Hover over the star icon to see a reminder that the Assistant is powered by generative AI models. Mistakes are possible, so always check responses.
