To modify girder attributes

Interior and exterior girders are parametric bridge components within girder segment groups, and can be edited individually. Select an individual girder to review and modify individual girder styles from a catalog of precast girder component styles, adjust offsets, or review girder schematics.

You can also run Line Girder Analysis for all prestressed girders of a concrete bridge. See About Line Girder Analysis for more information.

  1. Select a girder.
  2. Most attributes for the selected girder are editable in the Stack.
  3. If you modify a girder, you can apply those modifications to other girders in the girder group, or all girders in the bridge.
Girder Attributes

  1. The girder name will change depending on the bridge type. InfraWorks supports steel and concrete girder bridges. Click the girder group or girder name to select a different girder group or girder.
  2. Type
    • Click the girder type name (orange, underlined text) to open the Select Component style catalog. Double-click a new girder style in the catalog to modify the current girder component style.
    • Click the girder thumbnail image to view a more detailed girder schematic.
  3. Attributes
    • Girder length is read-only in the Stack. Girder length at the centerline is determined by overall bridge length, number of piers, and bridge deck continuity.
    • Modify start and end offsets.
  4. Materials
    • Volume Material: Choose between CIP concrete, Precast concrete, Structural steel, or other.
    • Click the texture thumbnail image to choose a different girder material from the Material/Bridge style catalog.
  5. Modify girder section dimensions such as width, depth, web thickness, and T values. You can also add or modify girder cross-sections.
  6. Add Creation and Termination date values if you want to Use Model Time.
  7. Map data source properties to the selected girder, as well as add a Link or Tooltip. See About Creating Links, Tooltips, and Watermarks.
  8. Optionally, add a description.
