User Interface preferences

Language

Set your language preference for viewing the Mudbox interface.

Linear Units

Sets the measurement units for the world. Options include: Millimeter, Centimeter, Meter, Inch.

Double Click

Sets the time limit in milliseconds that distinguishes a double click from two consecutive clicks.

Drag Box Size

Sets the distance (in pixels) that the cursor must be within in order to select a control point when editing the brush profile within the Brush Falloff properties.

Show Learning Movies in Welcome Window

Sets whether the learning movies appear in the Welcome window. When off, the Welcome window displays only the Start a new sculpture and Open a file options.

Show Welcome Window

Sets whether the Welcome window displays when you start Mudbox.

Highlight What's New

Toggles the display of highlighting on new features in the Mudbox interface.

Highlight Color

Lets you change the color of What's New highlighting in the interface.

Tip: Click the swatch to edit color or drag the neighboring slider to adjust brightness.
Show What's New Highlight Settings at Startup

Lets you set whether the What's New Display Settings window appears when you start Mudbox.

Highlight

Lets you set whether to highlight only what's new in the Extension release (What's New in this release only), or to highlight all new items including those added in Mudbox 2014 (Mudbox 2014 to now).

Show Help Messages on HUD

Specifies whether Heads-Up Display (HUD) appears to provide useful tool tips (including hotkeys) for features in the 3D View.

Show Informative Messages on HUD

Sets whether Heads-Up Display (HUD) appears in the 3D View to indicate the status (current subdivision level, polygon count) for the active model.

Show ViewCube

Controls the display of the ViewCube at the upper right corner of the 3D View. See also Navigate using the ViewCube.

Expert Mode Hides

Specifies which elements of the Mudbox interface are hidden when you press the T hotkey to activate Expert Mode. See also Maximize the working area.

Options include:

North Frame

Controls whether interface elements docked at the top of the interface are hidden.

South Frame

Controls whether elements at the bottom of the interface (such as brush and stencil trays) are hidden.

East Frame

Controls whether elements docked on the right side of the interface are hidden.

Menu Bar

Controls the main menu bar.

West Frame

Controls whether elements docked on the left side of the interface are hidden.

Status Bar

Controls the Status bar at the bottom of the Mudbox interface.

Enable Multi-Touch Gestures

Enables and disables multi-touch gestural input. When on, you can operate Mudbox using intuitive gestures on your Wacom multi-touch device or Trackpad. See also Multi-Touch devices and Multi-Touch input gestures.

Use trackpad

(Mac OS X only)

Enables and disables multi-touch gestural input using the built-in trackpad on newer model MacBooks.

When set to use multi-touch gestures, you can operate Mudbox using your trackpad. Select from the following options.

Cursor Control Only

(Default.) Disables multi-touch interaction with the trackpad. The trackpad behaves as it normally does, controlling only the cursor.

Cursor and Multi-touch

Enables the trackpad to control your cursor (with one finger) and enables multi-touch gestures (with 2 or more fingers).

Multi-touch Gestures Only

Enables the trackpad for multi-touch interaction. This is useful if you have a separate tablet without multi-touch, or a separate cursor device such as a mouse.
