AMFEA2D (Command)

Performs a Finite Element Analysis on a two dimensional object that is subject to a static load.

Summary

You can calculate stress and deformation in a plane for plates of a given thickness or in a cross section with individual forces and stretching loads.

The following conditions are required to start the AMFEA2D command:

  • The contour has to be drawn.
  • The internal and external contours should not touch one another.
  • The contour or cross section has to create a closed surface.
Note: Multiple FEA tasks are permitted within the same drawing. If the contour changes, a new FEA task has to be solved.

The FEA calculation is controlled by the FEA 2D - Calculation dialog box. You specify the material, the thickness and the border conditions (loads and supports) in view of type, and quantity.

List of Prompts

The following prompts are displayed.

Select interior point
Selects a point within the cross section. The FEA routine automatically finds the external and internal contours enclosed in the area defined by the cross-section.
Existing
Recalculates using the existing solution. Use this option if the contour has not changed.
New
Deletes the existing solution and starts a new calculation. Use this option if the contour has changed.
