In most cases, you can assign materials to structural member components so that the appearance of structural members that belong to the same style is consistent throughout a drawing and with other structural members and objects that use the same materials.
If a component cannot be assigned a material, or if you do not want to use materials but still want consistency among structural members of the same style, you can specify the display properties of the structural member components in the structural member style:
- Layer, color, and linetype of structural member components
- Hatching used with each component
- Cut plane height and the display of components relative to the cut plane
- Other specific structural member display information, such as whether custom blocks are added to the display of the structural member
You can also use the Display tab of the Properties palette to change the display property settings for a selected object display component in the current display representation.
