FAQ: What is the default number of backup files in the Project Navigator and how can I change it?

To increase or decrease the number of backup files in the Project Navigator versioning function:
  1. On the Quick Access toolbar, click Project Navigator .
  2. In the Project Navigator palette, Project tab, click the Edit Project icon, on the top right corner .
  3. In the Project Properties dialog box, Advanced File Check In Options Maximum Backups, enter any positive value from 0-100.

By default, 10 backup files are created as part of the versioning function. Enter 0 if you do not want any backup files to be created.

Note: A larger number of backup files increases the size of the project folder. However, this does not impact the size of the project file itself.
