Measurements (iOS)

Select and object and choose Measure.

  • Where you pick provides context for the measurement.
  • The face, the near edge, and the nearest corner are common selections.

Sometimes, only a single step is necessary.

  • Choose Edge or Face Area if that is what you want to measure.

Usually two steps are necessary.

  • Choose the From Face, From Point, From Edge, or From Corner and pick where you want to measure from.

After choosing something to Measure From, orange temporary graphics are inserted into the model to show the selected face, point, or edge.

Select an object to measure to and choose Measure.

  • Where you pick provide context for the measurement.
  • Select the face, point, or edge to measure to.
  • Choose Reset if you need to start over or cancel the measurement.
Note: The placement of the inserted dimension depends on the specificity of your selections. When you measure from or to specific points, the dimension will start or end at a chosen point.

Dimension objects are inserted into the model to show the specified length or area. To delete them or copy their value to the clipboard, select them like any other object in the viewer.

You can insert multiple dimensions.

You can total up lengths and areas by inserting running totals into the model. The number of dimensions or areas taken off appear in parenthesis.

A task to do this appears in the popup menu when at least one dimension exists.

All measurements can be deleted either from the popup for the running total or by choosing Measure from the popup shown when pressing and holding an empty space with nothing selected.
