2. Take Your First Steps into AutoCAD (AutoCAD Foundations)

Welcome and congratulations on starting your design journey with AutoCAD.

These tutorials introduce the common workflows and teach the essential skills you need to design in AutoCAD. Each tutorial covers different techniques, so its recommended to complete both tutorials.

2A. Architectural Design: House Deck

Create a plan view of a deck by starting with a sample drawing that contains some reference geometry and a set of predefined layers and dimension styles.

2B. Mechanical Design: Square Flange Plate

Create a top and side section view of a square flange plate by creating a new drawing from a template, and adding the necessary layers, linetypes and dimension styles to complete the design.

• AutoCAD 2024 or later has been installed
