Select Title Block Template

If there are title block templates in the project, you'll enter the Select title block template first step in the extraction workflow. You can select No template or a title block template created by project administrators which are listed in the table. If there are no templates, you'll skip this step and move to the Review and Edit Attributes.

A title block template contains predefined capture areas to automatically extract attribute values for drawings which match the same title block layout and paper size defined in the. See Create and Edit Title Block Templates for more information.

No Template Selected

By default, No template is selected. If you continue, only the Sheet number attribute will automatically extract. However, once you move to the next step - Review and Edit Attributes - you can add more attributes and define their capture areas to extract more attribute values.

Note: Any attributes and capture areas you add are only valid for that specific extraction session. If you want to reuse those attribute capture areas for multiple extractions, a project administrator can create or edit a title block template which can be selected in other extraction sessions.

Template Selected

If you select a template, this opens the Preview panel. This shows the paper size of your drawing file and the template capture areas aligned over the title block of the first drawing in your selection.

Check that:

  • The Paper size in the template matches the Selected file paper size detailed in the preview panel. Templates do not adapt to different paper sizes so if your drawings are a different paper size to the template, they will not extract correctly.

  • The template capture areas align correctly over the title block of the first drawing in your selection. You can click the < > buttons to view other pages of your selected drawings. If the template areas don't align correctly to capture the relevant values, you may have selected a template which hasn't been created for the drawings you are trying to extract.

Click Extract after you've made your selection.
