This FAQ topic is updated on a continuous basis with new information to help you quickly and easily find the answers to some of the commonly asked questions about Project Home.


Project Home

Question 1: What is Project Home?

Answer 1: Project Home provides a quick overview of what's happening on your Autodesk® Build project. It allows you to navigate and select specific projects for a deep-dive analysis.

Question 2: What changes to Project Home have been introduced recently?

Answer 2: In July 2024 we introduced changes to the Recent Activity card. See the following FAQs for details:

  • Recent Activity:
    • Question 1: Why am I only seeing data from the last 365 days, 31 days at a time in my Recent Activity Card?
    • Answer 1: While this change helps keep your activity feed fresh and relevant, this effort is also aimed at improving the loading experience to address previous glitches. Now, the Recent Activity Card will load more smoothly, enhancing your experience.
    • Question 2: Why are photos no longer displayed in the Recent Activity card?
    • Answer 2: We've updated this feature to address safety and privacy concerns. As such, photos will not be displayed in the Recent Activity card.
    • Question 3: Why can't I see "Issue assigned to me"?
    • Answer 3: We've changed how we handle issue assignments to keep you informed about your actions. You can now see issues you've assigned to others. To see the active issues that have been assigned to you, go to the Work Status card.
    • Question 4: Why aren't my activities grouped in the Recent Activity card?
    • Answer 4: We're refining the way we group activities to make your feed more organized and easier to navigate. This feature is on our road map.

Project Progress

Question 1: What does Project Progress feature provide?

Answer 1: Our Project Progress feature allows you to track your project status and milestones. It shows the number of completed milestones, the remaining days for the project, and a progress tracking bar that visually represents the project timeline.

Question 2: Can I see past milestones in the Project Progress feature?

Answer 2: Yes, all past milestones are grouped on the progress bar. You can view detailed information about each milestone by clicking it.

Question 3: How can I add more milestones in the Project Progress bar?

Answer 3: Only project administrators can add milestones to the bar. Project members don't have such ability.

Question 4: Are the milestones in sync with the Schedule tool?

Answer 4: As of today, milestones are plugged in manually and don't sync with Schedule automatically. The feature is on our longer-term road map as we see value in introducing it.

Question 1: What does the Quick Link feature provide?

Answer 1: The Quick Links feature provides an overview of your project's key elements, including sheets and members. It shows the total number of sheets and members in the project.

Question 2: Can I add or view more members or sheets from the Quick Links feature?

Answer 2: Yes, if you're a project administrator, you can add more sheets and members directly from the Quick Links feature.

Site Weather

Question 1: What information does the Site Weather feature provide?

Answer 2: The Site Weather feature gives a quick overview of the current and upcoming weather conditions for your project site. This can help you plan your project activities around the weather conditions.

Work Status

Question 1: What does the Work Status feature provide?

Answer 2: The Work Status feature helps you track items that require your daily attention. It's divided into two sections: "Your Assigned Work" and "Project Assigned Work", each showing a count of ongoing and overdue items.

Question 2: What information does the Work Status Card provide?

Answer 2: The Work Status Card is designed to keep you updated on tasks that require your attention. It's divided into two sections: 'Your Assigned Work' and 'Project Assigned Work'. Each section provides a count of tasks, showing ongoing and overdue items categorized as forms, issues, submittals, RFIs, and meeting items.

Question 3: What does "Your Assigned Work" section show in the Work Status Card?

Answer 3: The "Your Assigned Work" section displays tasks assigned to you. It only shows categories where you have one or more items. Categories can include forms that are "In progress", overdue issues, ongoing issues, overdue submittals, open submittals, overdue RFIs, ongoing RFIs, and open meeting items.

Question 4: What does "Project Assigned Work" section show in the Work Status Card?

Answer 4: The "Project Assigned Work" section gives an overview of tasks assigned within the entire project. It shows a count of overdue issues, overdue RFIs, overdue submittals, ongoing issues, open RFIs, open submittals, and open meeting items.

Question 5: Can I directly access the tasks listed in the Work Status Card?

Question 5: Yes, the counts in each category are deep linked to the respective tools filtered by the status. Clicking the count will direct you to the relevant tool, allowing you to view and manage the tasks.

Question 6: Why can't I see some categories in "Your Assigned Work" section?

Answer 6: The 'Your Assigned Work' section only shows categories where you have one or more items. If there are no tasks assigned to you in a particular category, that category will not show up until there is at least one item in it.

Bridge

Question 1: What does the Bridge feature provide?

Answer 2: The Bridge feature allows you to monitor sheets and files shared with other projects, and vice versa. It shows the last four outgoing and incoming sheets/files, and provides direct access to these in the Bridge tool.

Recent Activity

Question 1: What information does the Recent Activity Card provide?

Answer 1: The Recent Activity Card provides a scrollable timeline of activities within your project for the past 365 days, viewable in 31-day intervals. It displays the type of activity such as project creation, sheet publication, or issue assignment, along with relevant details and timestamps.

Question 2: What kind of activities are displayed on the Recent Activity Card?

Answer 2: The Recent Activity Card includes activities related to sheets and issues. For sheets, it notifies when a user publishes a sheet. For issues, it shows when the assignee was updated. It also notifies when a project was created.

Question 3: Can I access the details of the activities directly from the Recent Activity Card?

Answer 3: Yes, the details in each activity, such as sheet title or issue number, are deep links. Clicking these will take you directly to the relevant module in a new tab.

Question 4: Can I filter the activities displayed on the Recent Activity Card?

Answer 4: You can filter by activity categories such as 'sheets' and 'issues'.

Question 5: Why can't I see activities related to photos on the Recent Activity Card?

Answer 5: As of June 2024, we've excluded photos from the Recent Activity Card due to privacy concerns and technical requirements. We plan to revisit this decision in future updates.

Question 6: Can I see activities beyond the past 31 days on the Recent Activity Card?

Answer 6: Yes, the Recent Activity Card allows users to scroll back through activities up to 365 days in the past, in 31-day intervals. Activities related to project creation follow a 12-month rule and will not be shown if they occurred more than a year ago.

Milestones

Question 1: What are milestones in Project Home?

Answer 1: Milestones in Project Home are significant dates or events in your project timeline. They help you track important deadlines and project progress.

Question 2: How many milestones can I add to the project timeline?

Answer 2: You can add a maximum of 15 milestones to the project timeline. This limit helps keep your project timeline clear and manageable.
