Submittals Notifications

This page provides an overview of the notifications sent at different stages of the submittal workflow. It covers:

  • Understanding which submittal actions trigger notifications
  • Who receives notifications and when
  • Customizing notifications per project

Notifications ensure all stakeholders stay informed as a submittal progresses through review and approval stages. Emails are sent automatically to assignees and watchers when certain actions occur.

For example, when a submittal is first submitted, the responsible contractor receives a notification. When it's approved, notifications go to the contractor, submittal manager, and any watchers.

The main notification triggers are:

  • Item created
  • Reviewer added
  • Status change
  • Comment added
  • Response set
  • Closed and distributed

Project administrators can customize email notification settings for a project by controlling who receives which notifications.

Project members with Edit permission or above can customize their own email notification frequency settings for the tools they have access to.

This table shows when each participant in the Submittal workflow receives an email notification.
