Trial, Subscription, and Invitation FAQ

What subscriptions are required for AutoSpecs?

Members must have an AutoSpecs subscription to use AutoSpecs. If the member intends to publish submittals to Build there are additional requirements:

  • They must be a Submittal Manager in the submittals tool in Build. Learn more
  • They must have access to Build in the Project Admin product. A subscription to Build is not required unless the member needs to work on the submittals in the Build product.

Can subscriptions be assigned automatically?

Accounts that have Build Unlimited subscriptions can set their account to assign those subscriptions automatically when someone accesses a project created in that account. This can only be done by account administrators in the Account Admin product.

How many members can I invite to a trial?

Trial accounts are limited to 50 members.

What are external subscriptions?

If a member's subscription indicates that they have an external subscription, this means that another account has assigned them a subscription for that product.

Do I have to assign a subscription to a person that has an external subscription?

No. If products are enabled for that person in your projects, an external subscription allows a person to access those products. Assigning a subscription to a person with an external subscription ensures they retain access if the external subscription is removed.

For example, a general contractor may assign a subscription for one project with a different end date than another project someone is working on. Assigning a subscription prevents the loss of access when the GC removes the external subscription.
