Non-persistent Behavior
Causes of non-persistent behavior while using Autodesk services
Autodesk Digital Workplace allows for seamless connectivity to Autodesk software and services through the internet. Each time a user opens an application, they connect through a Digital Desktop – a pre-configured virtual machine.Authentication is enabled through ADSSO (Autodesk Single Sign-On), which allows Autodesk to recognize a customer’s organisation based on the email address, and redirect them to the company’s sign-in page.
ADSSO makes the log-on process easier. However, ADSSO can display non-persistent behavior during authentication if the MAC address of the desktop has changed. A non-persistent connection means a new connection is made for each request – when a user logs off one Digital Desktop and then logs on again later, they may be provided a different Digital Desktop. The user’s sign-on is not carried over to the next Digital Desktop.
Customers should be aware that, when different MAC addresses are used, non-persistent behavior can occur when logging on to use Autodesk applications such as Construction Cloud and Autodesk Docs.
