LTIMindtree’s Worktop grew out of the Digital Workplace solution at Autodesk, a cloud solution authored by and originally designed for Autodesk engineering employees. Teams could access a powerful virtual desktop that met the technical requirements of 3D intense design and make workflows, with no need to install software on their local computers. The solution could be used on a PC (Windows device), Mac, or a mobile device like an iPad, an Android tablet, or even a Raspberry Pi.

The flexibility and consistent performance of the solution improved collaboration and productivity to such an extent that an initiative began to expand it to Autodesk Enterprise Customer use. The solution provides seamless, secure, and simple cloud-based access to Autodesk and permitted third-party software through an internet browser. By providing access to a workplace in the cloud, customers can consume Autodesk desktop applications in a SaaS (Software as a Service) like environment. Customers have consistent and reliable cloud-based access to the products and services that help bring their visions to life.

During this pilot, many customers expressed the need to integrate third-party applications within their workflows to create seamless, customized experiences. Hosting these applications in Autodesk’s cloud environment presented challenges. While Autodesk’s core expertise is in design and make software rather than managing large-scale infrastructure, accelerating customers’ digital transformation journeys is imperative. By partnering with LTIMindtree, we can address these needs, offering a robust solution that combines Autodesk’s software with the flexibility to incorporate additional tools and applications.

Hence, the Autodesk Digital Workplace IP (Intellectual Property) was licensed to LTIMindtree to allow LTIMindtree to deliver the solution to Autodesk EBA customers. Autodesk selected LTIMindtree as the delivery partner because of its superior expertise in managing infrastructure at scale and its change management capabilities.

The platform technology is now deployed and being offered as LTIMindtree’s Worktop, which Autodesk Sales teams will resell to Autodesk’s Enterprise customers. In this model, Autodesk owns product roadmap, solution engineering & sales while LTIMindtree owns delivery, maintenance, & support for Worktop.
