Manage Folder and Sheet Automations

Automations in Bridge are automatic updates set up for shared sheets or folders in the project.

Note: Automations are not supported on individual files. You can place files into a folder and choose to automatically sync the folder with the files you want to share.

Once created, you can resume, delete, and pause automations in the Bridged projects tab in the Bridge tool.

Resume, Delete, and Pause Folder and Sheet Automations

Note:

  • When an automation is paused, the system does not send or backfill any changes once the automation is resumed again.
  • To resume an automation, a creator or an administrator in both projects must attempt to resume for the process to be successful. Learn more about who can resume, delete, and pause automations.

To resume, delete, or pause an automation:

  1. Navigate to the Bridge tool.

  2. In the right panel that appears, you can see how many active or paused folder and sheet automations you have with this project. To create automations, learn how in Share Sheets or Share Files or Folders.

  3. Click Resume all automations or Pause all automations.

  4. To pause or resume folder automations, click the More menu to the right of Folder automations.

    Click Resume all folder automations or Pause all folder automations.

  5. To pause or resume sheet automations, click the More menu to the right of Sheet automations.

    Click Resume all sheet automations or Pause all sheet automations.

  6. To manage individual automations, under Folder automations or Sheet automations, click the relevant number of active automations or paused automations shown.

  7. Active and Paused automations are shown in separate tabs.

    • The Active automations tab lists your sheets or folders with active automations.
    • The Paused automations tab lists your sheets or folders with paused automations.

    In either tab, you can select automations and use the buttons at the top to Resume automations, Delete automations, or Pause automations as applicable.

  8. Click Done to perform the action on the selected automations.
