Files Settings

The Files tool includes certain global settings that apply to all folders or files. Only project administrators can access and change settings:

Access File Settings

  1. Click the Files tool.

  2. On the right of the screen, click the Settings drop-down.

  3. Select a setting to open the main settings page in the tab of the setting you've selected.

    In the example below, the Attributes subtab is selected.

List of Files Settings

Some tabs consist of multiple settings and other settings have a tab of their own.

The main tabs and any subtabs are listed below. Click a link to access the relevant help topic for that setting.

Main setting tab Subtabs Summary
Attributes Attributes Create and manage project level attributes
Revision label Choose an attribute to display revision information next to the version number.
Title block templates Create title block templates to predefine capture area for automated drawing extraction.
Compliance Naming standards Create and apply naming standards to control how files are named.
Holding area Use the holding area to control how files are uploaded when non-compliant files exist.
Scan for duplicate files
Review auto-triggers -- Create and apply Review auto-triggers to automatically initiate reviews when specific file actions or file attribute actions and their conditions affect folders with the auto-trigger applied.
Packages -- Create packaged to group fixed or current file version which represent milestones, releases, and shared scopes of information.
Advanced -- Extra settings to allow members to send links to project files to anyone, show folder path even when members don't have permission, and enhance permissions so members can edit attribute values.
