Export Handover Package
You can export the package you assemble in Handover to send to any external stakeholders.
Click Export. A ZIP file of your handover package will be emailed to you when it’s ready.
Note:If there is Autodesk Build project data (RFIs, Submittals, or Sheets) in your handover package and you only have access to Docs, you can't export. Contact a project administrator with access to Build to export.
Navigate to the email in your inbox.
In the email, click Download ZIP and a page will open in your browser.
Click Download ZIP.
Open the zip folder in your computer and it will reflect the folders and files from the Handover tool.
The zip folder includes a table of contents PDF. There are preconfigured links in this PDF so that anyone can easily access the different items within the ZIP file. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat for the linking to work properly.
Note: Any links to unsupported references and attachments will be disabled to prevent viewers from encountering expired links. For example, since Assets is not a supported reference type, a link to an asset will be disabled. Due to technical constraints, the color of disabled links remains the same as active links.
Troubleshooting Problems with Handover Package Export
If you are experiencing problems with the Handover ZIP file on your computer, the following topics may help to resolve problems you are experiencing.
Can't unzip exported package
If you’re using Windows, it’s possible the ZIP file might not unzip because the file path is more than the maximum of 260 characters.
To unzip, you can try to shorten the destination. Extract the ZIP file to a location with a shorter folder structure, such as the root of a drive like your C:\ drive, or a folder with a shorter name.
If you or your coworker has access to a Mac, you can also try using a macOS device to unzip the file.
Can't open links in exported PDFs
If you’re trying to access links to attachments and references in the exported PDFs with Preview on Mac, it’s possible that the links won't work.
We suggest using Adobe Acrobat Reader to open handover package PDFs for the best experience.
