Open DWG Files in AutoCAD Web App
Members with View + download permission and above can open DWG files in the AutoCAD web app.
Members with Edit permission and above can edit and save DWG files in the AutoCAD web app.
Click the Files tool.
Navigate to your DWG file.
There are two ways to access the web app:
Click the More menu of the relevant DWG file and click Open in AutoCAD (web app)
Click the DWG file to open in the viewer. Select the icon at the top right of the screen:
Ensure that your pop-up dialog boxes are enabled to open DWG files in your browser.
The file will open in the AutoCAD web app ready to view by members with view and download permissions, and view, edit, and save by members with edit permissions and above.
The file is automatically locked so other members can't work on the file at the same time. The file is automatically unlocked when the drawing is closed in the AutoCAD web app using either the canvas close button, or the breadcrumb navigation. If you close the browser tab, this does not unlock the file and members will have to unlock the file manually in the Files tool or in the AutoCAD web app.
View and edit the DWG file as permissions allow.
Click Save to save your edits.
Once the file has saved in the AutoCAD web app, it will then update in the Files tool.
