Search and Filter Specifications

You can search and filter specifications on web and mobile to refine your specifications list and locate the specifications you need quickly and easily. See Search Content in Specifications on Mobile App to learn more about search on mobile.

Note: Searching and highlighting a scanned PDF is not supported in the Specifications tool.

Search and Filter Specifications

You can apply search terms and filters to refine your specifications list. The search terms that you apply search specifications codes and descriptions for matching results. You can also see your search results in a detailed content view.

Note: After publishing, it may take a few minutes for specifications to become available for searching and filtering.

Search Specifications

  1. Click the Specifications tool.

  2. Click Search and filter in the upper right corner.

    This opens the Search panel.

  3. Enter your search terms and hit Enter or click Search.

    Note: Your most recent 5 searches are displayed when you click in the search box.

    Search results are highlighted in blue in the specifications list.

  4. Click Show detailed content view below the search box if you want to search the content of specifications for the search terms.

  5. Enter your search term.

  6. Select one or more of the following filters, as needed:

    • Code

    • Version set

    • Issuance date

      Note: Click Clear all to clear your search terms, filters, and search results if you've done a search.
  7. Click Search.

    Search results are highlighted.

Search Content in Individual Specifications

When you open a specification, you can search content within that specification. Search results are highlighted in blue in the specification and in the Search results panel on the left.

  1. Open the specification.

  2. Click the search icon at the top-right of the page.

    This will open the search box.

  3. Enter a search keyword. The number of results is displayed to the right of the search field.

    The Search results panel on the left lists pages where the search results were found, and shows the results with surrounding content. Click any given result to be redirected to it in the PDF on the right.

  4. Click or to navigate between multiple search results.

Select one or more of the following filters if necessary:

Note: Click Clear all to clear your search terms, filters, and search results if you've already run a search.
