Changing Factory Option Settings

Factory options establish default settings applicable to your factory design layouts. Some settings apply at the application level, others at the document level.

To access Factory options settings, do one of the following:

Select the AutoCAD drop-down menu and click Options or you can type options in the AutoCAD command line.

Factory options appear on the following tabs: Factory Annotations, Factory, Factory Update Settings, and Factory Assets.

Factory Annotations Tab

Define the text font, height, and position for asset tags and descriptors. Also designate the layers in which text appears.

Factory Tab

Specify the preferred method for selecting factory objects, settings for document-based attributes, and various parameters related to:

Default Description
Transportation Defaults Includes properties for transportation type, travel speed, cost rate, load time, unload time, directionality, and flow type.
Operation Defaults Includes properties for operation type, processing time, and setup time.
Station Defaults Includes properties for setup cost rate, processing cost rate, uptime percentage, and energy consumption.
Shift Defaults Includes properties for hours per shift and number of shifts.
Job Defaults Includes properties for desired production rate, part quantity, and batch size.

Factory Update Settings Tab

Enables you to specify options for automatic recognition and notification if the LAYOUTDATA file contains changes made in other applications.

Factory Assets Tab

Enables you to specify the location for cloud-based factory assets, indicate where assets are accessed and stored, and define other asset-related preferences.
