About the HDR FX Setup Menu

eCMU communication: Use the Refresh button to refresh the connection between the workstation and the selected eCMU. Communication might be lost in case users disconnect/reconnect eCMU or network time-out. Only available if an eCMU is connected.

XML Import: Use this button to navigate the file system and import a Dolby Vision XML. The following options are available:

  • Current Shot: Imports the Dolby Vision data for the current HDR FX shot based on record location.
  • All Shots: Imports the Dolby Vision data for all HDR FX shots
  • Start Timecode offset: Use this field to provide an offset for an XML file which does not start as same record location of the current sequence. Applies to both Current Shot and All Shots XML Import methods.

XML Export: Use this button to navigate the file system and export a Dolby Vision XML

  • Current Shot: Exports the Dolby Vision data for the current HDR FX shot
  • All Shots: Exports the Dolby Vision data for all HDR FX shots
  • Start Timecode offset: Use this field to provide an offset for an XML file which does not start as same record location of the current sequence. Applies to both Current Shot and All Shots XML Import methods.

L5 Over HDMI: Enable to send the active area metadata (level 5 data) to the connected Dolby Vision television. This ensures that the letterboxed areas do not lift when you apply positive lift values: the letterbox remains black.

Dolby Vision™ Licensing

  • Request License: This button sends an email to Dolby Laboratories® to request a license.
  • Install License: When you have received a Dolby Vision license, use this button to navigate to the license location. The license is duplicated to /opt/Autodesk/partner/Dolby folder.

Dolby Vision Configuration File

Load Configuration File: Flame Family products ship with a configuration file listing the Mastering and Target displays. From time to time, Dolby Laboratories® may update this file and users would be able to reference a new file to see Mastering and Target displayed list being updated. This file is global and affects all Flame Family products.

Cache iCMU Intermediates: Enable this option to cache HDR FX results.

Note: The HDR FX is a GPU-accelerated FX and does not require rendering for playback most of the time: you can leave Cache on Playback disabled. If you work with a configuration that cannot do real-time playback of the FX, enable Cache on Playback.

Custom Mastering and Target displays

This UI might be used in a future update of Flame Family products. For now, Custom Displays are not supported.
