Export a schedule
Once you're done experimenting with your schedule in Flow Generative Scheduling and happy with the results, you can send it back to Flow Production Tracking and update the schedule there. You can also export the schedule as an OSF file, and if you have created a converter, import it into the tool of your choice.
If the schedule data comes from a Flow Production Tracking project, then you have two choices:
- Send the data back to the original Flow Production Tracking project.
- Export the data as an Open Schedule Format (OSF) file.
If the schedule comes from an OSF file, then the only options are for you to export an OSF file. You cannot send it to a Flow Production Tracking project.
To send a schedule back to Flow Production Tracking:
From the Home page, select a playground to open it.
From the Scenario panel, select the scenario to send back.
In the Export menu, select Send to Flow Production Tracking.
The Send scenario to Flow Production Tracking dialog box reminds you what scenario you're sending back, along with the projects that will have their Proposed Start Date updated with the generated schedule. Click Send scenario when ready.
Important:When you send the scenario back to Flow Production Tracking, only the Proposed Start Date field gets updated.
In your Flow Production Tracking site, you apply the Proposed Start Date to those tasks you want to update.
To export a schedule as an OSF file:
From the Home page, select a playground to open it.
From the Scenario panel, select the scenario to export.
In the Export menu, select Export as OSF.
The OSF file is immediately downloaded to your browser's Download folder.
At the moment, you cannot give a name to the file, and it will be named something like
Nn9vt2oG1HA6qEiCheUM5j-yuEG9HGoJ-5-0-0.osf.json
.
