What's New in Version 2026.0 - April 2025

This topic lists all the additions and improvements incorporated in ICMLive® Operator Client 2026.0 which were not available in previous versions.

Any feature marked with an asterisk (*) requires a database update to database version 2026.0 in order to access the feature.

Subgrid Sampling Technical Preview *

Subgrid Sampling (Technical Preview), in ICMLive Configuration Manager and InfoWorks ICM Ultimate, is a method for enhancing topographic representation in an InfoWorks 2D model, where the software performs a third clip meshing phase to create a finer triangular mesh for each 2D element inside a 2D zone and any associated Mesh zones, where Subgrid Sampling is to be applied. Subgrid triangles for each 2D element are used to build volume/level tables which, in combination with the 2D face ground levels, define the interface crest levels between 2D elements. See Subgrid Sampling and Subgrid Sampling Methodology in the InfoWorks ICM help for further information.

New properties - Subgrid Sampling and Subgrid Sampling triangle area - have been added for InfoWorks 2D zones and Mesh zones, and an Override 2D zone Subgrid Sampling property is now also included for a Mesh zone. See 2D Zone Data Fields and Mesh Zone Data Fields for details.

There are no licence restrictions for applying Subgrid Sampling to a model. However, to run a simulation, where a 2D zone or Mesh zone has Subgrid Sampling applied, requires a licence with unlimited elements.

See the Using Subgrid Sampling topic in the InfoWorks ICM help for information about using Subgrid Sampling in a 2D zone or mesh zone. As Subgrid Sampling is a Tech Preview, there are a limited set of modelling capabilities, network objects and mesh functionality that can currently be used with it, which are also listed in the Using Subgrid Sampling topic.

Subgrid Sampling Results

New Subgrid Sampling results, listed below, have been added for 2D zones. These will be available when Subgrid Sampling is applied to any 2D zones or Mesh zones in your network during a simulation. If the same network includes Network Results Point 2D objects, Subgrid Sampling results will also be available for them.
  • Mean depth (time-varying), and Max mean depth and Min mean depth (summary).
  • Volume (time-varying), and Max volume and Min volume (summary).
  • Subgrid flag (summary). Only available for 2D zone results.

See 2D Zone Results Data Fields and Network results points (2D) results for descriptions of the result attributes.

You can use the Property button on the GeoPlan toolbar to view all of these results. The Mean depth and Volume results can also be displayed using, for example, the Graph and Grid buttons on the Results toolbar.

You can also use polygon themes for 2D zones for displaying the Subgrid Sampling results on the GeoPlan. Note that subgrid and non-subgrid elements may be displayed differently. See Special polygon themes for 2D zones for details.

Autodesk ICMLive Operator Client

This software is now installed with Autodesk InfoWorks ICM as part of the ICMLive system.

You do not need an Autodesk licence to use it, but you will need an Autodesk account.

ICM Ultimate users, and ICM Standard users with access to a manifest deployment deployed by an ICM Ultimate user, can use the Operator Client for example, to view areas of interest defined in the manifests, see a visual summary of any alerts, and analyse the results of live runs.

The underlying data, such as manifests, manifest deployments and alerts, that is used by Autodesk ICMLive Operator Client can only be created and maintained in on-premise databases in InfoWorks ICM Ultimate. You cannot use cloud databases or InfoWorks ICM Standard for this.

Forecast runs are a key feature of a live system and an Innovyze licence is required to run simulations in Autodesk ICMLive Operator Client.

A Simulation licence option on the Client's File menu displays the Innovyze Licence Server dialog where you can specify the name or IP address of the licence server you are using.

ICM Ultimate users, and ICM Standard users with access to a manifest deployment and suitable permissions, can fully operate a live system if they have a licence.

For users who are familiar with the Innovyze version of ICMLive Operator Client, the Autodesk version works in exactly the same way other than the:
  • Licencing and account differences (described above).
  • Underlying input data is created and maintained in InfoWorks ICM Ultimate rather than in ICMLive Configuration Manager.
  • Two new options on the File menu:

See Key concepts for details about an ICMLive system and Getting started for information about using the software.

Desktop analytics

When you select the Desktop analytics option from the Help menu in 64-bit versions of the software, a new Privacy Settings dialog is now displayed. For 32-bit versions of the software, the existing Data Collection and Use dialog is still used. These dialogs let you choose how we can analyse your usage of our software. By opting in, you help us improve the features, usability, performance and quality of our products.

GeoPlan performance improvements for 2D meshes

The performance of the GeoPlan has been improved when displaying large 2D meshes. You should notice that it is now quicker when you are using, for example, the pan, zoom and properties tools.

CUDA update

An update to CUDA 12.6.3 is included in this release. This means that the NVIDIA drivers for your GPU card may need to be updated to a version that is compatible with CUDA 12.6.3 to ensure that on-premise 2D simulations do not fail. Cards with a compute capability of 5.0 or higher are only supported.

Changes to the help

Previously the help for ICMLive Operator Client was delivered as a single compiled (CHM) help file that was displayed in a dedicated HTML help viewer. This has now been replaced by online XML help that is opened in your web browser. You can still access the help by selecting the Help topics option in the ICMLive Operator Client Help menu, or by pressing F1 at any time to display the help topic appropriate for that part of the interface. The information in the help applies to both Autodesk and Innovyze versions of ICMLive Operator Client unless explicitly stated otherwise.
