This dialog is used to configure a server connection with ICMLive Operator Client (the client).

Configure a server connection Dialog

It is displayed when you select the Server connection option from the File menu or click Server connection button (Server connection) on the Overview toolbar.

The current connection status is given by the colour of Server connection button (Server connection). See the Overview toolbar fo details of the connection status colour.

The following parameters of this dialog are to be configured:

Server name – Name of machine where the server is located.

Server port – Port on the machine where the server is located and the server is listening to for client connections .

Reconnect – Once a server name and a server port have been specified, clicking Reconnect updates the client-server connection configuration to the new settings.

The Status section displays read-only status information relating to the current client-server connection:

Connection – Displays the status of the connection, which may be one of the following:

  • Connecting – Indicates that the client has initiated an attempt to connect to the server. When the client is not connected to the server, it will automatically attempt to reconnect to the server until a connection is successfully established.
  • Not connected – Indicates that no connection can be established between the client and server. This can be for many reasons, including but not limited to the following: server not running on the machine specified in the Server name field, server not listening on the port specified in the Server port field, network down, etc.
  • Connected – Indicates that a basic connection has been successfully established between the client and the server whose credentials have been entered in the Server name and Server port fields of the dialog.

Applications services – Displays the status of the application services and can be one of the following:

  • Available – All application services are available to the client.
  • Not available – No application services are available to the client. In such cases, the error text is self-explanatory.
