Annotate nailboard cable and harness drawings

Add annotations to the nailboard drawing to provide the needed manufacturing information. You can add:

  • Dimensions and selected properties on the designated harness objects.

  • Connectors and connector tables.

  • Tables that include information such as wire run lists or a cable and harness bill of materials.

Tables are added to nailboard drawings to provide additional manufacturing information such as a wire run list, a cable and harness bill of materials, or connector information. You create and place tables in nailboard just as you create and place tables in other drawings. To add a table, you first generate a report with the required information, select the report, and then place the table. You can create several types of tables:

    • Configuration tables
    • General (empty) table
    • Tables created using external files such as an .xls, .xlsx, or .csv file

In Cable & Harness you can use the Report command from within the nailboard to generate a .csv format file containing the manufacturing information you need. Nailboard table data is not updated when the harness assembly changes if you used a .csv or other external file to create your table. In this case, regenerate the external report file to get updated information. When the report is updated, the data in the associated table updates automatically the next time the drawing is opened (unless defer update is set).

Note: We recommend that you disable the Print filter information, Print head, or Print information options when you create reports in the Report Generator for tables on the nailboard drawing. They affect the parsing of the data when the table is created.

Once a table is placed, you can reposition, delete, resize, and edit it.
