About the Tangent Mapper Application
The Tangent control surfaces have the ability to be customized based on user preferences. Use the Tangent Mapper application to modify the mapping for your favourite applications. The mapping is saved on an operating system user basis and is applied on top of the default mapping provided by the application manufacturer.
To access the tangent Mapper application:
- Linux: when logged as Flame, Flame Assist, Flare or Lustre, use the Tangent Mapper icon located on the Desktop or navigate to /opt/Tangent/bin folder
- Type in shell
./TangentMapper
- The application starts without any mapping
- Start the Autodesk application
- Return to the Tangent Mapper
- The mapping of the current application is shown and can be edited.
Note: the modification done to the mapping is saved with the operating system user (in /tangent/hub/<application name>/) and is reloaded at log in time. Saving a mapping does not change the default mapping of the application. But since it is loaded at startup, it will override the default mapping.
On macOS, you need to download and install the Tangent Hub from the Tangent web site: https://www.tangentwave.co.uk/products/ and select your Autodesk application. Then download the Tangent Hub and Mapper.
