Flow Wedging
Wedging is the process of generating variations of an effect in order to choose the best one, similar to bracketing the exposure setting in photography. It is a common technique used for fluid and other simulations, but it can be very time-consuming because of the amount of computation that is required.
The Flow Wedging plug-in ships with Bifrost for Maya and can help with wedging the output of a Bifrost graph. After preparing the graph, you can submit your wedging job to the cloud thus freeing up your computer's resources to work on other things. Once the job is finished, you can compare the downloaded cache files and iterate as desired.
Flow Wedging is a cloud service that requires Flex tokens in your Autodesk account. The amount of tokens that are consumed is based on computation times. Cache results are available for download for 30 days.
Flow Wedging runs on Bifrost 2.12.1.0 with Maya 2025, or later versions. Earlier versions are no longer supported. On Mac OS, only ARM64 CPUs are supported.
