To open a Maya scene file that was recently saved, do one of the following:
- Click the
App Home icon
in the upper left of the Maya interface. Clicking on the option menu to the right of a file will also allow you to:
- Open the file location in a browser.
- Copy the file path location to the clipboard.
- Remove the file from the recent list.
Note: If the App Home icon does not appear, it may be hidden in the Home Screen section of Interface Preferences, or you have a version of Maya prior to 2022. - Select File > Recent Files, then select the file you want from the list that appears.
- Right-click the
Open a Scene icon on the
Status line (toolbar) and select the file.
The Recent Files list also displays the last file saved as well as the last file used before a crash. See Recover data after a Crash for more about locating recovered files.
Note: You can customize the number of files that appear in this list using the Files/Projects preferences (Window > Settings/Preferences > Preferences).
