Auto-mesh analysis limitations
Auto-mesh analysis supports most of the conventional analysis sequences. An auto-mesh analysis launches two jobs, one to mesh the model and a second to run the specified analysis.
There are analyses and functions that require post-meshing features or parameters. The following requirements are not supported in an auto-mesh analysis.
To overcome these limitations mesh the model prior to analysis, apply the required parameters and launch the analysis.
Limitations
Analyses not supported:
- Cool (FEM)
- Core shift
- Thermoset Dispensing
Boundary Conditions not supported
- Prohibited gate locations
- Surface loads
- Dispensing controller
- Valve gate controllers
Studies that mix CAD and Mesh are not supported. Example: CAD geometry + Part mesh.
3D runners are not supported, as you need to stitch them to the part after meshing.
The command runstudy does not incorporate the mesh feature.
Mesh settings may not be recorded such as Scale Factor.
For non-CAD formats, the default mesh may not generate an accurate result.
