Auto-mesh analysis limitations

Auto-mesh analysis supports most of the conventional analysis sequences. An auto-mesh analysis launches two jobs, one to mesh the model and a second to run the specified analysis.

There are analyses and functions that require post-meshing features or parameters. The following requirements are not supported in an auto-mesh analysis.

To overcome these limitations mesh the model prior to analysis, apply the required parameters and launch the analysis.

Limitations

  • Analyses not supported:

    • Cool (FEM)
    • Core shift
    • Thermoset Dispensing
  • Boundary Conditions not supported

    • Prohibited gate locations
    • Surface loads
    • Dispensing controller
    • Valve gate controllers
  • Studies that mix CAD and Mesh are not supported. Example: CAD geometry + Part mesh.

  • 3D runners are not supported, as you need to stitch them to the part after meshing.

  • The command runstudy does not incorporate the mesh feature.

  • Mesh settings may not be recorded such as Scale Factor.

  • For non-CAD formats, the default mesh may not generate an accurate result.
