About Autodesk Fusion
Autodesk Fusion is a tool used to edit CAD geometry, that interfaces with your Moldflow software so you can easily import updated geometry.
Export the CAD body to Fusion from within Synergy, to make changes to the model geometry.
After modifying the geometry in Fusion, export it from Fusion into your Moldflow product.
If you have a Synergy or Adviser Subscription license, you can either install Fusion with your Moldflow installation, or download it from (https://www.autodesk.com/mf-install-fusion). Three (3) named users are provided access to Fusion for each Moldflow Synergy or Adviser Subscription seat.
If you are a Maintenance license holder, you can obtain access if you subscribe to Fusion at (https://www.autodesk.com/mf-subscribe-fusion).
Autodesk Fusion supports the following CAD geometry formats:
- Autodesk Inventor up to 2026, *.ipt
- Autodesk Inventor up to 2026, *.iam
- SAT v4 to v7
- CATIA® V5 - R10 to 6R2024
- Parasolid® up to V37
- Pro/ENGINEER® Wildfire® 1.0 to 5.0
- SolidWorks 2006 to 2025
If you click Return to Moldflow, or you close the Fusion application, the modified CAD model is imported automatically into a new Moldflow study. For the round-trip workflow to complete successfully, do not close the Moldflow Insight project while you are modifying the model geometry in Fusion.
In the new study, the following settings are retained from the original study:
- Material selection
- Process settings
- Mesh parameters, such as global edge length and local mesh density settings
- Boundary conditions such as injection locations and coolant inlets
