About Report Creator Files

Report Creator produces two types of files, report configuration files and reports.

• Report Creator produces two types of files, report configuration files and reports.Report confguration files—by default, report configuration files are stored locally, but you can use the Settings dialog box to create a custom path. For example, you can store them on a network drive to make them available to the project team. The default settings can be found in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D 2026\R25.0\enu\ReportCreator\ReportFiles. The configuration files that ship with the product are as follows:
  • 3D Parts.rcfx

    Produces a Plant 3D bill of materials. See the sample report below.

  • Drawinglist.rcfx

    Produces a detailed P&ID project drawing list.

  • Equipmentlist Extended.rcfx

    Produces a detailed P&ID equipment list. The columns include Tag, Manufacturer, Supplier, Comment, Tech Data 1 through 4.

  • Equipmentlist.rcfx

    Produces a less detailed P&ID equipment list. The columns include Tag, Manufacturer, Model Number, Supplier, Material Of Construction, and Weight.

  • Instrumentationlist.rcfx

    Produces a P&ID instrumentation list. The columns include Tag, Manufacturer, Model Number, Supplier, and Location.

  • Linelist.rcfx

    Produces a P&ID line list. The columns include Tag, From, To, OP Pressure, OP Temp, Insul Code, and Insul Thick.

  • Pump Spec Sheet.rcfx

    Produces a P&ID spec sheet. See the sample report below.

  • Valvelist.rcfx

    Produces a P&ID valve list. The columns include Tag, Size, Spec, Manufacturer, Model No., Supplier, and Description.

  • COGWeightReportByLineNumber.rcfx

    Produces a COG weight list grouped by line number.

  • COGWeightReportByObjects.rcfx

    Produces a COG weight list grouped by object.

  • COGWeightReportBySpool.rcfx

    Produces a COG weight list grouped by spool.

  • WeightReportByLineNumber.rcfx

    Produces a weight list grouped by line number.

  • WeightReportByObjects.rcfx

    Produces a COG weight list grouped by object.

  • WeightReportBySpool.rcfx

    Produces a weight list grouped by spool.

• Reports—by default, the reports are stored in the project folder. The configuration file determines the output format, but a designer can override this setting as needed.

  Here are two sample reports, the first is the 3D parts imperial and the second a P&D spec sheet, both in PDF format.
